Meet Miss Menning

Let me take a moment to introduce myself.  My name is Miss Kim Menning.  I grew up in Ft. Pierre, South Dakota and I am the oldest of five children.  I am a graduate of Northern State University in Aberdeen and prior to moving to Dell Rapids I taught in Hoven, South Dakota at St. Anthony Catholic School.  While there I taught third, fourth and fifth grade.  This is my thirteenth year of teaching first grade at St. Mary.  I really enjoy teaching first grade!  Every day is a brand new adventure with a class of first graders and rarely is there ever a dull moment! It is amazing to watch how much progress the students make over the course of a year and it is always exciting to watch them learn how to read and then see them reading books on their own.  I am sure you, as parents, marvel over these same things as well!  

Outside of the classroom I enjoy reading, watching movies, doing craft projects, spending time with my friends and shopping.  I also happen to be an avid fan of the San Diego Chargers and the Boston Celtics!  I have had the opportunity to go to a Chargers game and am looking forward to seeing the Boston Celtics play live in person some day, too.
